Background[]
The 5th, 6th, and 7th graders selected the name at the suggestion of coaches Adam and Zack. The group consists of the most advanced swimmers at Camp South Hills. Squad was further split into the most advanced swimmers at Camp South Hills to encourage more competition and faster learning in the water.
Insights[]
Haleakala means house of the sun and was named after a tale from Hawaiian folklore. In the tale the sun was captured in the volcano by Maui to lengthen the day.
